WILD VIRIDITAS

A spiritual perspective on the living mystery of God.

Welcome to Wild Viriditas.

There is more to Christianity than meets the eye.

Beneath the familiar stories, beyond the words on the page, and underneath the traditions we have inherited, there is a living mystery waiting to be encountered.

Welcome to Wild Viriditas.

It is the sacred life that pushes through the soil, the hidden force that turns a seed towards the light, and the restoring presence of God that calls the human spirit back into wholeness.

Viriditas is a word made famous by the 12th-century Christian mystic Hildegard of Bingen. It describes the greening power of God — the divine vitality that brings life to creation, nourishes the soul and makes all things flourish.

But why Wild Viriditas?

Because the life of God cannot be contained by our expectations, reduced to religious formulas or confined to the boundaries we have constructed around faith.

It is alive. It is creative. It is mysterious. It is continually inviting us into something deeper.

Here, I want to explore the wilder, more mystical dimensions of Christianity.

We will wander through the hidden depths of Scripture, sit with the wisdom of the ancient mystics, explore contemplative prayer, discover the feminine wisdom woven through the Bible, and consider the mysterious ways God works within the human soul.

We will explore healing, dreams, symbols, spiritual awakening, the inner life and the extraordinary mystery of Christ.

This is not about abandoning Christianity. It is about going deeper into it.

It is about moving beyond belief alone and discovering what it means to live in relationship with the Living Word.

I write as a Christian mystic, a minister and a fellow traveller who is still discovering how much there is to uncover. I don't have all the answers. But I am deeply interested in the questions that open us to God. Perhaps you have felt it too — a quiet sense that there is more. That Scripture holds depths you have never been shown. That prayer can become something more than words. That healing begins somewhere deeper than the surface. Perhaps you are longing to encounter God rather than simply know about God. If so, there is room for you here. Welcome to the wild, living mystery of God. Let's see what begins to grow.

There is so much more to come…
